Another Mei-Mei

If you’ve been around Caleb, you’ll hear him calling Caris by Mei-Mei. That’s Mandarin for “little sister.” Well…. now, Caleb’s going to have another mei-mei. That’s right. We found out yesterday that we’re having another girl. Soon Daddy and Caleb will be outnumbered by girl power.

When I have time, I’ll try to post ultrasound pics. And we have heaps of pics and videos of the kids, but we’ve been non-stop lately with work, ministry, kids, school, etc.

PS. If you have baby name ideas, send them our way. Chris has been going a bit crazy with looking up female names from Star Wars, so I think I need your help deterring him from that path.

9-Month Shots

Caris got her 9-month shots today.  Her thighs are sporting some Charlie Brown blue bandaids.  Caleb got his influenza booster shot.  It’s a “I’m really out of it” benadryl day for him.

OK, the 9-month stats for our baby girl…

Length – 28.5” (80%)

Weight – 18lbs, 6.5oz (45%)… and everybody tells us she looks so chubby!  Maybe it’s just an Asian thing to tell somebody their baby looks chubby.

The Suitcase Has Arrived

Yay, we got our suitcase yesterday night around 6:30 or 7PM.  The right one this time!  It came fresh off of a flight from Philly.  I guess our suitcase wanted to enjoy a longer layover than us.

Suitcase Still Lost

Bummer.  It wasn’t our suitcase.  It did say Wong on it.  Not this set of Wongs, though.  Oh well.  Caleb, you’ll just have to wait for your little cars.

We’re Back Home!

Last Saturday (despite delayed flights, a 5-hour wait in Atlanta, and a last minute change in our destination airport), we arrived at our resort in Williamsburg, VA in the wee hours of the night.

7 days later…

after enjoying Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg…

swimming nearly every day…

Caleb dealing with an incessant chesty cough (bad Virginia allergies?)…

Caris catching roseola…

Mommy (with Caris strapped on her chest) slipping on water in the Philadelphia airport…

Running through the Philadelphia airport barely making our transfer to L.A…

Arriving in LAX one suitcase short…

Coming home to cats that appeared to have never left our 100 degree bedroom (how much fur can 2 cats shed in a week?… a lot!)…

Yes, we are home.  Pictures and vacation stories to come if we have time.

Virginia Vacation

We’re going to Williamsburg tomorrow for a week. Chris checked into our flights. We have 5 or so hours going to Atlanta, and then we fly into Richmond. Chris just told me that the flight is completely full. He couldn’t even find 3 seats together for our family. Oh my. This could be quite interesting. We were really hoping for an open seat so that we wouldn’t have to hold Caris in our laps the whole time. Now, we’ll just have to see if we can even sit together so that Chris and I can help each other out during the flight. Hmm, 2 children and 2 adults in a 20 square foot area for 5+ hours. The 1 hour car ride after the flights is starting to sound comfy to me. 🙂

Crawling Caris

So our little girl started crawling right before 6 months.  Well, kind of.  She did this modified form of crawling… she looked like a caterpillar.  Pretty much at the same time as this crawling developed, she began sitting up really well.  So, I started letting her just sit.  She seemed to really enjoy this upright position.  I didn’t let her practice tummy time as much.  So, then about a week ago, I started putting her back on her tummy more often.  Caris was not so happy about this change.  But, now she’s back to practicing her crawling.  She’s finally starting to get more control of her mobility, though she’s not yet doing full on hand-knee crawling yet.

First Movie

Caleb went to see Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything this past Tuesday at the Monrovia Krikorian.  It was his first time watching a whole movie… and his first time in a movie theater.  Sorry no pictures of Caleb, but this a milestone to be remembered in our blog.  At least Chris took a picture of the movie screen (see below).

Caleb did better than we had expected.  He watched the whole movie.

“KICK”

Caleb’s been taking a soccer class since mid-July.  One more Saturday class left.  He’s the youngest in this mommy/daddy & me class.
